1. Why do I get a “Could not access Apple Music!” dialog?

You need to have your sure your Apple Music's iCloud Music Library is turned on.

Go to: Settings → Music → turn on iCloud Music Library. This will enable your Apple Music Library to sync playlists and songs.

2. Do I need an Apple Music account to transfer my playlists from Spotify?.

Yes. In order to transfer your Spotify playlists to Apple Music you need an account through Apple. If you haven’t signed up for Apple Music yet it is free for 90 days, after that it is the same price as Spotify’s Premium plan of $9.99 a month.

3. Transfer playlists to Apple Music without adding to Library?

Make sure you have updated to the latest version of Houdini (1.1.2 or newer). The app version is located on the bottom of the Help screen. With 1.1.2 we now allow you to transfer playlists to Apple Music without the songs from those playlists showing up in Library.

There is an Apple Music setting which controls this functionality. If you Don’t want the songs to be added to your Library, make sure the setting is turned off.

4. Why do I have an issue when selecting Apple Music as the “Import To” (destination)?

You must have a paid subscription with Apple Music. Apple Music is free for the first 90 days and $9.99 a month afterwards. If you do have an Apple Music subscription please try the steps below. Please send us a description of your issue via Send Feedback in the Help screen or email us at support@houdini.io if this doesn’t resolve your issue.

1. Sign out of Apple Music.

2. Sign back into Apple Music.

3. Setting → Music → Show Apple Music must be turned on.

4. Setting → Music → iCloud Music Library must be turned on.

5. Manually add a song to “My Music” on Apple Music and follow any instructions it gives you.

6. Turn on WiFi on order to re-sync your library.

7. Try using Houdini to transfer your playlists again.

5. Why are some of my Apple Music playlist’s songs are not in the Spotify’s catalog?

Houdini will only transfer the songs that are in the Spotify’s catalog. The app first matches the songs and then transfer the songs that have been matched. Once the matching is complete the app will display the number of songs that could not be matched on the bottom of the Matching Complete screen. You can also export the full list of the song titles and artists that were not matched.
